Defence Technology Discussions with Canadian Universities

We continue to strengthen and expand our connections with research institutions around the world in the strategically important field of defence innovation.

FTMC welcomed Karen Dalkie, Vice-President of the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), along with representatives from Canadian higher education and research institutions, focused on defence-related fields and the development of cooperation opportunities.

“Canada could be an important and trusted partner for FTMC across a broad range of fields, including optoelectronics, lasers, biotechnology research, and, most importantly, defence-related technologies. We hope that this meeting will help foster meaningful cooperation, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and develop joint initiatives that contribute to both scientific advancement and societal resilience,” says Dr Lina Mikoliūnaitė, FTMC Deputy Director for Science.

During the meeting, Dr Mikoliūnaitė, presented the Centre’s activities. Dr Karolis Stašys, Head of Defence Projects at FTMC, introduced the Centre’s research in the field of defence, including a ship radar recognition system, adaptive camouflage, optoelectronic technologies, laser systems, optical coatings, the development of advanced new materials, quantum technology solutions, and future biology – organs-on-a-chip.
