Bringing Innovation Closer to Policy-making: FTMC Welcomed Vice-Minister of Education, Science and Sport
FTMC welcomed Vice-Minister of Education, Science and Sport responsible for studies, science and technology, Prof. Dr. Regina Valutytė.
Vice-Minister met with our Director Prof. Dr. Ramūnas Skaudžius and toured several FTMC laboratories: in the Department of Nuclear Research, engineer Artur Plotnikov explained how the age of archaeological finds and other objects is determined using the radiocarbon; PhD student Justina Žemgulytė invited the Vice-Minister into the Microwave anechoic chamber and presented the research conducted there; Physicists Prof. Dr. Habil. Proc. Nerija Žurauskienė and Dr. Voitech Stankevič introduced projects carried out in the Department of Functional Materials and Electronics, in collaboration with their colleagues chemists – Dr. Eivydas Andriukonis, PhD students Viktorija Reinikovaite and Raiane Rodrigues da Silva from Brazil.
We are delighted to have had the opportunity to present the innovations developed by FTMC scientists and hope that this visit will encourage even closer cooperation between the scientific community and state institutions.
