On 10^th May, 2018 a business delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Yousif Eisa Hassan Eisa AlSabri, the Ambassador accredited to Lithuania,  visited the Laser and Engineering Technologies Cluster (LITEK^TM). Before arriving  to Lithuania on a business mission, the delegation visited Estonia and Latvia.The main goal of this visit was to get acquainted both with the activities of Lithuanian traditional industrial and agricultural sectors, as well as with the achievements of high technology sectors, in order to intensify interstate economic cooperation.

The delegation from the UAE visited the Laser and Engineering Technology Cluster laboratories, took interest in the development of 3D printing technologies, as well as the development of a high-power laser system, its capabilities and applications.

The Director of the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology  (FTMC) prof. Habil dr. Gintaras Valušis presented  the model of work and cooperation at the international level, successful experience in the development of FTMC technology companies in the field of photonics, emphasizing the importance of research in optoelectronics for the development of innovative industries in Lithuania.

Mr. Giedrius Valuckas, Head of the Investment Committee of the  Engineering Industries Association of Lithuania (LINPRA), member of the Board of the Lithuanian Association of Free Economic Zones, participating in the meeting  introduced the LINPRA's main mission to the delegation - to promote exports of goods and services, to increase the business competitiveness and internationalization, to enforce the synergy between the research and engineering activities, to promote the achievements of the engineering sector, to improve export of products and services, emphasizing the attractiveness of Lithuania as a strategically convenient (in terms of location and costs) production center and a gateway to the European market for investors.
