Dr. Ieva Plikusienė, a researcher at the Department of Nanotechnologies of FTMC, has been awarded the Medal of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas! She was awarded "for biotechnology research of the highest international level, for her significant contribution to the progress of science in various fields, and for promoting Lithuania in the world".

Congratulations to our colleague, we are very proud of you!

 

"Indeed, this is probably the most significant award for me, because I consider working for Lithuania and contributing to the development of science here in my country, where I was born and grew up, to be of the highest value.

 

Although a lot of research has to be carried out with colleagues from abroad, all of my scientific work, which I have co-authored, has the affiliations of Lithuanian institutions - VU and FTMC.

 

And today, I am once again proud to be Lithuanian. Happy Lithuanian birthday to one and all of us! Let's celebrate Lithuania because WE are a country! For the Sake of this Land!", I. Plikusienė quotes the Lithuanian anthem on her Facebook account.

 

 

 

Another person associated with our Center was also awarded at the ceremony - Vidmantas Janulevičius, a member of the Scientific Board of FTMC, President of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, and economist. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas "for his long-standing contribution to the development of Lithuanian industry and his courageous innovations in the field of the Green Deal, for his initiative and for his representation of Lithuanian business on foreign markets".
