FTMC prof. Albertas Malinauskas honoured with a Lithuanian State Award

On 6th July, the Day of the State of Lithuania, the Coronation of King Mindaugas and the National anthem, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Grand Duke Gediminas to prof. Albertas Malinauskas, the head of the Department of organic chemistry of the Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC), who is the Author of research and inventions being applied to medicine, the food industry, and the environment.
 
During Award ceremony, which was held in the White Hall of the Presidential Palace, President G. Nausėda honoured sixty persons of merit to our country – science, education and culture, representatives of business and non-governmental organizations and others.
 
"Today we thank those, who deserve our attention and respect for their tireless work in important areas of public life. Each of your life and every day work story is a valuable lesson and a source of inspiration for all of us. Better than anyone you know, how much good and light a new good idea and self-sacrificing daily work can bring. How it is important to gather like-minded people, earn their trust and achieve the set goals with joint efforts. From your efforts, as from the details of the most beautiful mosaic, consists everything the most beautiful and noble, what we have in our country. You decorate and enrich our common home with your knowledge, experience and moral attitude", - said the President of Lithuania during the Award ceremony.
