On February 13 (Thursday) at 11:00 AM, in room D401 (Saulėtekio Ave. 3, Vilnius), a lecture by FTMC Department of Fundamental Research postdoctoral Dr Adrián Casado-Turrión will take place: "The Effects of Modified Laws of Gravity in Astrophysics."
"The detection of gravitational waves opened up new ways to explore the Universe and to test the fundamental laws of Nature. In this talk I will discuss several approaches to modifying General Theory of Relativity and how such modifications affect gravitational wave signals and dynamics of Black Holes and other compact objects in astrophysics," says the researcher.
The lecture will be presented in English.
Adrián obtained his PhD degree from Complutense University of Madrid last year. His research interests are in the area of theoretical physics such as modified gravity, quantum fields in curved spacetimes and cosmology. He joined our group at FTMC in November.
