About the department
- Mission – to warrant a high international level and competence in the field of characterisation of solids structure and in field of thin films photovoltaics, to qualify high level specialists in these research areas.
- Objectives – a development of investigations in the field of thin films photovoltaics; to extend a participation in international and Lithuanian scientific projects while performing electron microscopic, x-ray diffraction and spectroscopic investigations.
- Tasks – to expand investigations of the formation of thin film solar cells; to most effectively apply new equipment for characterisation of structure of solids; to elaborate new techniques for characterisation of structure; to teach young specialists by employing students and graduate students. Open access services on structural analysis and chemical composition of solid materials.
