For the second Monday in a row, we had distinguished guests. Today, a delegation from the Academy of Sciences of Albania visited FTMC.
Skënder Gjinushi, President of the organisation, as well as his colleagues Shaban Sinani, Dorian Koci, Anila Hada and Nazim Gruda arrived in Lithuania.
The delegation was accompanied by Prof. Aidas Matijošius, Dean of the Faculty of Physics of VU, and Prof. Zenonas Dabkevičius, Vice President of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences (LMA).
The main goal of the foreign representatives in Lithuania was to sign a cooperation agreement between the Academy of Sciences of Albania and the LAM. The document has been signed on Tuesday, 26 September.
Prof. Gintaras Valušis, Director of FTMC, talked about the activities and the most important achievements of our Center, while Dr. Žilvinas Ežerinskis, a scientist at the Department of Nuclear Research, presented the Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Laboratory. It has unique equipment that allows to accurately determine the age of archaeological and geological samples up to 50 thousand years.
