Mission
Development and application of electrochemical technologies and investigation methods for the fabrication and characterization of new functional materials.
R&D activities:
- Silicon electrochemistry. Electrochemical synthesis of nano/micro structures and their aplication in sustainable energy: photovoltaics, hydrogen photogeneration, new generation batteries.
- Development of new nanomaterials and their application in optoelectronics, materials engineering, energy conversion and nanomedicine.
- (Electro)chemical depostion of transparent and/or electrically conductive nanothin semiconductor layers for photo/electrocatalytic reactions
- Alloying of light metals (Mg, Al, Ti) with refractory ones (Zr, Ta, Nb, Cr,) by physical techniques and investigation of resulting alloys. Research on applicability of the alloys as hydrogen storage or in vivo biodegradable materials.
- Accredited and expert assessments of metal corrosion in the Corrosion Testing Laboratory. Development of corrosion protection technologies.
